When I Loved Myself Enough . . .

Oh, the joy of releasing the responsibility!

"When I loved myself enough . . .

I quit trying to be a saviour for others!

Stress2  How wonderful it is not to feel duty bound to take responsibility for the problems and misfortunes of others.  Please don’t misunderstand me, I have always helped where I can and I will never pass someone needing help without offering it – that’s how the Universal system works!  Help has always been given to me in my hour of need and often from the most unlikely sources.  What you put on the wheel and all that . . .

Here, I’m talking of a different type of ‘helping’ . . .

You see, I’ve shed the need to be needed, it’s as simple as that!  I now understand the principle of personal responsibility.  Empowering others to help themselves is far kinder than taking ownership of another’s problems for them.  We each have our own journey and learning on every level is an important part of growth, as I have discovered.

I now realise that focusing on my own development will ultimately bring rewarding change to others, as well as myself.  Who am I to deprive anyone of their chance of being the very best that they can be by rushing in an dealing with difficulties for them?

Far greater is the gift of support during their journey as, in turn, I am supported in mine.
